You have asked two great questions. The self-monitoring component is erached through a hierarchy of difficulty, as are most of the concepts in therapy. In other words, at first, we "monitor" my speech in a variety of ways. Then, we monitor the clients speech in audio and/or video recordings. Monitoring in real time is a higher level skill that takes focused practice in structured activities prior to attempting carryover of the skill. Thanks for the inquiry!
