From his current slp - "The use of phrasing and Delayed Auditory feedback using the SpeechEasy device in the sessions has worked to attend to his speech and self correct". From my point of view, sitting in the SpeechEasy eval, it was a noticable difference in less 'mess ups', better monitoring of rate, he was able to repeat longer more complex sentences, and better self awareness. This is for both reading and speaking. It was not a night and day difference, but a noticable one. We are currently going thru the process of attaining a SpeechEasy, but we are trying to get the insurances to pay for the device. The slp says its a longshot to zilch, but will give it a month or 2 before we pay out of pocket. Once we get the device, we will have him gradually where it, like just in class at first. Id hate for him to lose a $5000 device.
