If rapid rate of speech is one of the symptoms of cluttering, was the rate of normal conversational speech ever considered in the original languages of the cultures you studied? Is there a difference in "normal rate of speech" is different languages? To my ear (I do not understand Spanish), the rate of conversational Spanish speech seems fast. Maybe it is just that I don't understand Spanish;-) But if there is a difference in normal conversational rate in different languages, would that interfere with trying to define or determine what cluttering is?
