I agree that a written or verbal description may be an inadequate way to present cluttering for an individual to comprehend it. I could see determining if there was a word for cluttering based on a written or verbal description as a potential problem. As in many situations where language variability affects comprehensibility, so too could a verbal or written description affect the reliability of the exchange of information and the determination of the existence of a word for cluttering. I was unable to locate any empirical data in the literature to determine if cluttering was ever demonstrated.
