The regular rate of speech as compared with persons who clutter for Spanish speakers was not considered in my project. Empirical research has documented that there are different rates of "normal" speech in different languages. Determination of whether one clutters or is a normal speaker with a rapid rate of speech is based upon several factors: one being a rapid burst of speech that can be irregular and contain errors such as omissions of the endings of words as opposed to just a rapid rate of speech. Many other presenting characteristics aid in determining if a person clutters as opposed to just a linguistic difference in rates of speech for normal speakers in varying languages.
