Hi. Great question. SLPs have the the same red tape process and frustrations you and I went thru. Why should they have to spend 10+ hours dealing with all the BS, when they can be making a hundred an hour with 10 different patients. Not only that, but each insurance company has there own process. So once you have one company figured out, then you have to start that process over again for the next client with a different insurance. So, I totally understand why they do not want to deal with the hassles. Its not the best way to spend the time and money for both the slp and the client. I do totally agree that it has to start somewhere and there are a few who are willing to do that - hopefully you can become an advocate from that angle. Unfortunately, until cluttering is known as well as Stuttering, then services will continue to be difficult. Professionals who are pioneering the way for us have sacraficed a lot of their own time and finances to put cluttering in its status today. Much more work still needs to get done before slps will be able to take on the insurances, ie defining Cluttering. Thanks for the positive feedback. It keeps me inspired to continue my work in spreading the awareness.
