The following is from the SLP - The use of phrasing and Delayed Auditory feedback using the SpeechEasy device in the sessions has worked to attend to his speech and self correct. The use of a metronome along with reading aloud has been effective. Non verbal cues agreed upon by Jon and the therapists have improved his ability to self monitor his speech rate with greater accuracy; I will sometimes touch my chin when he is using a good rate and this positive cue helps him to stay at a good speech rate. The use of over articulation and producing effort for the ending sounds in words has also been effective in slowing his rate without telling him to slow down all the time. This technique has been more effective than a negative comment.
