Great question. From a parent and cosumer perspective, customer service is number one in my book. Its important to know your clients and bond with them, expecially with children. It gives you a real life point of view of their lives which in turn can affect their type of therapy. Dont turn your office into a cattle ranch pushing kids thru for the numbers. Our current school provided slp does group therapy at school with kids of all different levels of speech issues - ridiculous. Dont overwhelm yourself with clients and burn yourself out. Its not fair to you or the clients. And remember, its all the quality of life, not the quantity. Thanks for checking out my paper and the positive comments. Good luck to your aspiring career.
