well one of the ways I built up my puplic speaking was trying to imagine that I was talking to a group of friends. or focus on one friend in the room and just look at them. It should be someon that knows that your going to be doing it and wont make any faces at you. Or if by so weird chance that you have no frieand s in the class(which I highly dought) look at the back wall all of these things helped me very very much in puplice speaking.
