I have always heard that once you are a stutter you are always a stutter. I know you stated that as a group (you, Adam, and his family) it was decided to let Adam take a “vacation” from therapy. However, don’t you think that you should have tried reducing it before completely removing him from therapy? Even though he has the opportunity to go back to therapy whenever he feels it’s necessary, do you think that he will voluntarily go back to “jail”? Especially, since his stuttering has been describe to him as a characteristic and not problem? Couldn’t you have come up with a term that carried a less negative connotation than “jail”?
