Thanks for your interest in our paper. Membership into the SCAC is open to speech therapists and traditional healers who work with stutterers. Since we do not yet have trained speech therapists here, we allow herbalists to join us. Those of them who can read English do borrow books on modern speech therapy from our library and read them. We also give them room to air out their views on how they go about treating their clients. Some of our members have been cured by eating insects, drinking herbs and some water prescribed by them. Some of our members often ask us if there isn't something in these herbs or other substances that if well researched and modernised can help treat stuttering especially amongst the young ones.
