Taro,

Thanks for writing an article to share with us all the wonderful things that are happening as a result of Our Time. It sounds as if it is an organization that has great potential to grow.

When you get all those great grants (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!), are you considering adding groups for younger children? A few years ago, at our local FRIENDS Youth Day, we had the younger children (ages 4-11) stage a wonderful puppet show about stuttering. At first, many of them did not want speaking parts and were hesitant about getting up in front of an audience. By the end of the day, they all proudly took their places on stage and gave a great performance in front of a large audience of parents, siblings and SLPs. It was marvelous to see them confidently speaking, and stuttering, in public. I'd love to see your group open up to those younger children--so they don't have to get to be teenagers and still feel shame.

Regards,

Lynne
