As an undergraduate student I was required to take a course in fluency disorders, and currently as a graduate student I am required to take a course in fluency disorders. I did not realize how lucky I was to have been exposed to an undergraduate course on fluency disorders, as well as having had the opportunity to work with an adult PWS in the university clinic. As a graduate student at another university I was shocked to hear that many students have never had a course on fluency disorders before the graduate level, nor had they ever been exposed to a PWS. Your article is inspiring and it is comforting to know that people like you are trying to make a difference in this field. I have always been so motivated by the passion of people in the area of communication disorders. I admire your ability to define the problems that are facing the field, as well as your ability to develop possible solutions to the problems. As you had hoped, I am sure this article will lead to discussions among students and future researchers in the field. It has sure made me think!
