HooRay for you guys. I like your spunk and motivation to become leaders in stuttering. Just a few observations. Clinical relevance is very important along with personal interpretation. Too many researchers are timid about "going out on a limb." But who better to do this than the researcher him/herself. As far as clinical compentency from the consumer standpoint it should be pointed out that the biggest compainers are those who say: "I tried it and it didn't work!" These people seem not to realize that the "it" is really themselves. However, there also seems to be a trend in cookbook therapy. Take a look at some of the buzz about a particular Rx being touted in this years ISAD papers. However it is done much relies upon the competency of both parties and their motivation/dedication to whatever the Rx is. Why not put some of the traveling roadshows of stuttering Rx on the internet to reach more people? And, why not extend the office hours of the experts to engage working SLP's via email? Lastly, when you have experienced an emotional "meltdown" in treating stuttering, either your own, parents, kids, adults, grandkids, etc. you will know you have arrived and you will be the better for having been there and done that. Best of success to all. Jerry
