Thank you for your encouraging words. As Joe D. said in an earlier post, those before us have given us much. In fact, the field of speech pathology has its roots in stuttering. The problem now is that those currently doing the teaching and research in stuttering (and those of us who will follow) are being "pushed out" or "swallowed up" as the field expands. As a person who stutters and doctoral student in stuttering, I see this as a travesty. Others in the field either see it as a normal progression of life or don't see the problem we see. As Bob Quesal said in a paper last year, hopefully my vision is distorted and the problem is not as it seems. But between me and you.... at age 41, I still don't wear glasses :)
