Nita: Are you talking about teenagers who stutter? I don't know the answer to this. But how does it bear on the issues related to tough love? Are you thinking that if they willingly return the therapy can't be faulted? I'm not persuaded that this would be so. Plenty of people stay in or elect to return to abusive situations. This, in my judgment, does not justify people, in this example, hypothetical clinicians from being abusive.
