Judy, I enjoyed the background offered by your article. I have a question as to whether the clinician would still be considered inadequate if he or she was not a person who stuttered as Edgar Werner stated in his things to be wary of. I am not a person who stuttered but am willing to try anything that I would ask a client to do. I also have had previous speech therapy for an articulation problem and understand how a difference in speech affects feelings about yourself. Although non of this means that I specificlly know how stuttering effects the person I am willing to understand as much as possible. Am I still considered inadequate to treat a person who stutters.
