Greetings. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your article. I have a question regarding an earlier posting that you made. You stated that desensitization therapies can use methods that add fear, expectancy and avoidance to speaking situations. Do you think that desensitization can actually occur without some fear being attached to the act of desensitization? I recall when earlier this semester I was asked to pseudostutter. I have to tell you that I had a lot of built up anxiety, fear and avoidance of the pseudostuttering assignment. However,it was from completing the assignment that I realized the many situations that pws may encounter every day. Pseduostuttering gave me the ability to take a risk, even though fear and anxiety were attached to that risk.

Thank-you for your time,

Andrea Desjardins
