Hi Russ, I remember meeting you at the 2001 NSA Convention in Boston, but I can understand your not remembering me, you were The Man, with lots of people coming your way. I tried you send a response to you last week, but for some reason it wouldn't post, I hope this one makes it!

I truly value the feedback from people who stutter, I consider PWS my guides to the lay of the land. So, I'm glad that you enjoyed my paper! I looked up your Iceberg site right away and I loved seeing the visual structure of how stuttering can be experienced, I think it will help others in the field understand how important the "other stuff" is, and that from this perspective, the parts beneath the waterline are the foundations of the system.

Regarding intuition and emotions, I consider them to be related but separate experiences. Emotional energy connects the conscious and unconscious mind (i.e., the body). Intuition, I believe, allows us the opportunity to listen to our own personal truth, regarding our emotional energy.

As for stuttering when you are talking outloud alone or to your dog, , you may be correct about your neurological system and stuttering. I would refer you to Dr. Huang Haiyin's paper from China this year, he proposes the same theory. I do think that stuttering when alone is a possible "test" of the System. But I do have some follow up comments and questions for you to consider: You mentioned in your paper that stuttering is an important part of your personal identity that you were not ready to give up, especially since it serves you well in ToastMasters. So, I have to wonder about your true INTENTION to leave it behind. Are you honestly motivated to kiss it godd bye?

Also, I'm curious, do you stutter in your dreams?

Sorry, I will not be able to come to the meeting in Boston due to a prior commitment, but the workshop looks great, and I look forward to seeing you at other NSA events. I look forward to hearing back from you, I will be out of town this weekend!

Marjorie
