Mr. Guitar, The Lindcombe therapy program appears to be a great success. I am a graduate student in speech pathology and have some questions concerning training and ethical considerations when administering this approach via the internet. As a new clinician, would it be ethical for me to provide guidance to parents via internet? Or, would you suggest to clinicians to have some training on how to provide services via internet? Sometimes patients request assistance, but have difficulty meeting with you frequently. I was wondering to what extent the internet should be used for therapy, and if at all possible, should we encourage patients to pursue therapy services at a clinic near them? Also, how confident were you about using the internet for therapy with Nancy? What was it about her that told you that she would succeed? You were obviously right. Thank you for your time!
