Hello Karen,

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, sometimes it is difficult to see our differences as a gift. But that's what they really are. To be just like everyone else, and blend into the world just like another grain of sand, is awful. God MADE us different. If we learn to use those differences to our advantage, the world all of sudden can turn upside down and you life can be truly beautiful!

You asked...

Q. At what age did you develop a sense of security and appreciation for the "Gift"...?

A. Actually it was less than ten years ago when I was at least 50. I'm 62 now. (And Steve is considerably older than I am! Ha, ha, ha!) Somehow it takes a lot of maturity for the obvious to become obvious... <smile>

Q. ... and what event brought you to this point of appreciation?

A. It was more of a process than an event. It was a combination of joining the NSA and Toastmasters plus being able to simply be around world class people such as Steve Hood. I would have never been able to do this if it wasn't for that unique opportunity.

Steve and I are working on the possibility of me coming to Mobile maybe in the spring for an NSA workshop. I hope we can do this. Then we can meet face to face. I'd really like that! I'm also working on getting some video tapes of my Toastmaster speeches made and copied. Tell Steve not to give up on me. I'll get that done.

Wishing you the very best,

Russ
