Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the covert aspects of stuttering are absolutely fascinating. Check out the iceberg analogy of stuttering at http://www.russhicks.com/iceberg.htm and imagine increasing the density of that iceberg to equal the surrounding water. You would have NOTHING above the waterline and 100% of it below. The person still has a HUGE stuttering problem - but is FLUENT! Amazing, no? The professional stuttering community is just now beginning to address this unique condition.

Just FYI, I did try to actually surf on the water two separate times, both with the exact same disastrous results. I would up wrapping myself around the surf board and scraping my backside on the sandy bottom of the beach. Anyone who can really surf has my utmost respect! My memories of South Padre Island, near Corpus Christi, Texas, and the Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts will forever be tainted with my surfing misadventures. Man...! Just like talking fluently, it looks so easy...!
