I can speak both Chinese and English. According to my experience, speaking another language made little, if any, difference in severity of stuttering. I don’t think it as a wise strategy, because it is a behavior of avoidance, which cannot eliminate the psychological obstacle of chronic stutterer.

I believe the recovery of chronic stuttering needs a long period, however, it is not a tedious or arduous journey as you imagined. It can be made into an enjoyable or even happy experience, as in my own case.
