Sue - You win the prize for careful reading! All of our subjects, men and women, have been right-handed. I made a typing error when I wrote that they were left-handed in the PET imaging study. Who knows what got into MY hands when I was typing! Thank you for catching that error. And, it's an important factor, because it certainly could be that handedness might be a factor in the production of speech among stutterers. Finding enough left-handed men or women who stutter is difficult, so we haven't yet looked into that.
