Thank you for the replies to my previous questions! I have been thinking about obtaining a doctorate so it is always wonderful to get encouraging comments.

I have another question, this one dealing with female who stutter. I read "Consumer Alert: Stuttering and Gender Research" by Ellen-Marie Silverman and she talks about studies done in the 1970s that looked at how the menstrual cycle effects their stuttering. I was wondering a few things. Do you question the women involved in your research about their menstrual cycle? I really think it would interesting to study the brains of women at various times during their cycle to see what areas were active and when. The whole idea of women who stutter being more effected during their period makes sense to me since their hormones are going crazy, why wouldn't everything else go crazy too. Just curious if you question your subjects as to which stage of the cycle they are in during your research.
