I suggest 1. holding an information night which is publicised widely. The more the attendance the more likely the right personalities will appear to lead the group. 2. recommending that clients attend consumer lead stuttering conferences regionally, nationally or internationally. (Assuming you are in USA, then the NSA holds an outstanding annual conference.) Their attendance and active participation results in social contacts being established which can be maintained over the telephone thus providing on going support.

With regards to your question on self help groups, I suggest you review Michael Sugarman's excellent article on the topic which is available at www.stuttering.homepage.com.

Best wishes on your new career

Mark
