I truly enjoyed reading the work you have done and contributed to the field of Speech Pathology and neuroscience. I am currently a grad student in Speech Pathology, and am always interested in neuroimaging studies, especially when they relate to language development. My question is and I hope it makes sense; Do you think that the repeated environmental stimuli that determines the expressions of the gene set could determine whether someone became a stutterer or not? What I am trying to ask, is if someone has a family history of stuttering (assuming that this person carries a gene for stuttering) and does not display signs of stuttering, could it be because they are not in an environment that induces the stuttering behavior? Thank you for your time.
