Karla, thanks for the response. I agree with you that we should include spiritual wellness and faith in the treatment process. It seems that there has been an increase in the number of articles that have been published in the popular and professional press since September 11, 2001 dealing with faith, religion, and similar topics. I am collecting the articles and the stack is getting quite large. I believe there is a growing awareness that there is likely much more to dealing with stuttering than simply speech therapy. For those who come to treatment from a spiritual background, this paper will probably have relevance. I have had very positive responses from clients and from two presentations, one in Texas at our state convention and one in England at the Oxford Dysfluency Conference.
