It scares me somewhat to read about what the medical community is "beginning to realize". I do agree that spiritual wellness is important in the healing process, but spiritual wellness is not necessarily linked to having a religious belief. Here in Norway we have a state religion ( you are a member from birth and have to sign out if you don't want to be a member), but no doctor, nurse or therapist would be allowed to tell a patient or client that a Christian faith is important to get better. There are some Christian clinics for alcohol and drug addicts that are built on the Christian faith, and some people in that category have been helped by finding something to believe in, but a problem like stuttering is a totally different matter. And believe me, it is fully possible to feel very well spiritually without having a Christian faith. I know.I do.
