I'm a graduate SLP student in Minnesota. What an interesting point of view and approach to treating persons who stutter. I agree that the bible is a source of wisdom and truth relevant ot all areas of life for believers. I have a question, though. In your experience, if a client is spiritually-minded and he or she has accepted his/her stuttering and perhaps even considers the ways the problem could be used to minister to others and glorify God, what comes next? Do they typically want to continue therapy to increase fluency, or is acceptance the end of the story? If you continue to treat these clients, do you follow a traditional Van Riper approach for increasing fluency? Thanks for your time.
