To me the definition is of a successful outcome of stuttering therapy is the ability to pursue any career of ones choosing such as a) air traffic controller, b) trial lawyer, and c) psychologist. What percentage of the adolescent and adult stuttering clients have a successful outcome? Please use your own experience as a guide. What happens to those clients who in one form of therapy such as fluency shaping fail or stuttering modification fail? Are they referred to another speech therapist with a different orientation? Or are they referred to another professional for another type of therapy, such as counseling, psychotherapy, drug therapy, etc.?
