Thanks for your comments. I'd say your take on things is exactly right. Certainly a message at either extreme ("All stuttering is bad" at one end and "Don't worry about fluency at all") is less than helpful. I've said many times that fluency is the de facto goal of any stuttering treatment. But I believe that different people will achieve different levels of fluency. And if that final level of fluency falls short of someone else's goal, I think it is very destructive to start blaming the person who stutters for not being 100% fluent.

Balance in most things is important.
