He has plenty of data to support his position. I think we'd probably differ on the definition of "normal fluency" (I've heard two or three variations of the definition since I got the letter), but he is steadfast in his belief that normal fluency can be attained by all. Those of us who have not done so are clearly doing something wrong. Unfortunately, I think he is asking me to speak abnormally - or unnaturally - in order to achieve that "normal" fluency.
So perhaps it's an oxymoron...or a matter of semantics. ;-)>
