I am a first year graduate student at Minnesota State University-Mankato. I am also a parent of an adult son who stutters and who received speech therapy when he was in grade school. I have been surprised throughout the years by the number of people in this profession, as well as the educational field, who have no knowledge whatsoever about fluency disorders. Why hasn't ASHA mandated that all accredited programs must include some training in fluency disorders?
