I want to start out by saying how relieved I am that people who stutter are in the speech language pathology profession. I am a graduate student taking my first Fluency Disorders course, and I am desperately trying to "learn" what life is like for a person who stutters. It makes sense to me for someone who has a personal experience on the subject to diagnose and treat others who stutter. I will soon start treating my very first stutterer (a 6 year old girl)in the school setting. From your perspective as a stutterer, what advice can I give her classroom teacher for dealing with the child's disfluencies in the classroom?
