I think you make two very important points about the letter-writer. First, you talk about "insensitivity" and I think that really does sum up the nature of what he wrote. No matter how he tries to sugar-coat it, the letter was simply insensitive. You'd think if nothing else a person would learn to be sensitive from working with people who stutter.
The second thing that really resonated with me was your statement that "they know nothing about stuttering, instead they just know how to offend people." I couldn't have put it better myself.
