Your last words struck me. To get teachers to become interested in children who stutter, we have to tell them they are there! In my school project I had so many schools telling me they didn't have any children who stutter. One school gave me 10 minutes, although I told them I stuttered and needed twice as much time. I was there for 1½ hours!

We have to tell people we stutter, that we are ok, but still have our needs, for if we don't talk for ourselves, no one else does. Tell teachers, tell politicians and tell our nearest and dearest. Stuttering is not a shameful thing and shouldn't be in the closet. It's not our fault and teacher really want to help, but they need to know how and they need to know how to trace the covert stutterers. And there's where we come in.

So thanks you for doing what you're doing. You're worth a million!
