Jerry,

Thanks for your critical comments. You raise some excellent points that many PWS struggle with. There's no doubt that individuals with greater degrees of disfluency face a different set of challenges along the same vein as any other handicap of different degrees of limitation and opportunity. But we do all have the same choice -- play the victim or play the driver of our paths. There are so many incredible individuals, Russ Hicks, Vicki Schutter, etc., within the stuttering community with pronounced, overt stuttering that could have easily found excuse enough to opt for a life of limitation. They, and so many, didn't. Their examples of smiles, happiness and moving forward are monumental to many. Read Russ' wonderful paper in this ISAD conference. You'll find an individual, perhaps not quite as smug, who is forever climbing the mountain and doesn't feel sorry for himself and whose life truly is swell. And, boy, does he stutter!!! :))

Best if luck in your journey.

Chris
