Hi Sophie, I am a 2nd year graduate student in speech pathology at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am soon to be out working in the real world and need your advice. You had mentioned in your paper that speech therapy was not very beneficial for you. I am curious if you have any advice for me concerning working with people who stutter? We are suppose to be the experts, but obviously that is not the case. You are the expert. I can read all the literature and have a good understanding about stuttering, but it will take hard work and years of experience to understand how you are feeling. Did your therapists not listen to what you thought should be worked on? I am trying my best to understand how people who stutter are feeling. Any advice for me would be great. Thank you for your strength and courage so that I, and the others reading your story, can learn from your experiences. Thanks for your time. Molly Rourke
