Thank you for your question.

My advice would be to focus on (and have other people in the child's life focus on) what the child is saying rather than how he or she is saying it and to do whatever you can to not draw attention to the dysfluent speech.

If the child starts being bothered and frustrated with his or her dysfluency, then I would seek out the help of a speech-language pathologist who has experience in treating stutterers.

This is just my opinion. My parents may have additional or different advice. They should have access to the Internet again beginning on Friday, October 11.
