Sophie: I first wanted to thank you for sharing your story. As a student in speech pathology your story both discouraged me and made me realize what an impact an inadequate therapist can be. However, I feel that most stutters must have the desire and determination inorder to see results in therapy. While your parents provided insight and helpful counseling to your childhood and your therapist may have been inadequate, do you feel that perhaps you should have taken control and stood up for yourself? Have you considered having any further therapy? Thanks for the great article and insight into patient satisfaction.
