As a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology, I found your approach to client education very useful and refreshing. So often, I feel we rely on charts and models to describe physiology/functions that we fail to help the client make the connection with their own apparatus. As you mention in your article, a client can use his/her own "laboratory" which they carry with them at all times. I agree with your idea of "using the living object" --this can also tie in with mindfulness . While reading your article, this question came to mind:
Do you have any recommendations based upon your experiences that would assist a client in achieving active awareness of tactile, proprioceptive and kinesthetic feedback while speaking? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
