Hi Greg,
I guess I've always maintained a good sense of humor (or humour in the UK) despite a lifetime of stuttering. There's no point in having a 'long face' - it jeopardizes relationships with loved ones, friends and colleagues. I even enjoyed being a raconteur, although I invariably had difficulty with the punchline. I also became a prolific writer of humorous verse and gave poetry readings of my own work. I used to find that reciting rhymes was far easier than merely talking in public. Today, it's not a problem.
