Being a certified teacher of Norwegian as a foreign language I thought I would try to teach Paul Norwegian, but the whole thing fell apart as he started caressing me every time I was trying to put some Norwegian words into his head. Having taught hundreds of foreigners to speak Norwegian this was the first time THAT happened to me, and I gave up teaching him anything.Paul is in his third Norwegian course at the university now (the state provides 800 lessons of Norwegian for all immigrants)and is doing well. In fact so well that as we were touring Europe this summer and someone asked him in English if the seat next to him was vacant, he answered "Nei, nei" in Norwegian instead of "no" in English. I guess this answers your question? :-))
