Hi Marisa,

Please call me Alan - 'Mr Badmington' makes me feel like a dinosaur (smiling).

When I give presentations; make speeches; chair meetings; fulfil radio interviews; use the telephone etc, I now talk completed unaided. I no longer require anyone to speak in unison with me (as I did when saying my wedding vows). I have total confidence in my ability to undertake such tasks alone. This also applies to any other speaking situation that I encounter.

During recent times, my life has been littered with speaking engagements - both in the UK and USA. A few months ago, I engaged in some spontaneous public oratory, in front of a crowd of complete strangers, near the White House in Washington DC. I found it exhilerating and I now thrive on (and actively seek out) such challenges. In fact, the greater the risk - the more satisfaction I derive.

Do I currently use any visualization techniques? Yes!, most certainly. As I mentioned in one of my earlier responses, I refuse to harbour negative thoughts. If I am presented with a challenge, I will always accept it and have the belief that I will succeed. (I have not avoided any situation or word for many years).

Prior to an engagement (or speaking situation), I create images of myself communicating well and without difficulty. I always visualize (and genuinely believe)that there will be a positive outcome. There is a saying, "You are what you think" and I am convinced that it is true.

Many thanks for your contribution.

Kindest regards

Alan Badmington
