The school district is able to take legal recourse based on negligence if the parent continues to refuse services in spite of documentation and meetings with school personnel. Hopefully this can be avoided through meetings informing the parents about the consequences of untreated disorders, and through negotiations regarding the service delivery model that will be offered to the child.
