Don’t get too worried, Michelle—it’s likely that you already are a good listener. Most people are.

Just listen as you would to anyone else. Normal eye contact is not staring. It’s periodic, done just often enough to show your conversational partner that you’re still attending. React in a manner appropriate to the person’s age, something most people do instinctively. And really listen—to the content of the speech, not the way in which it’s produced.

No mysteries really. Just common sense stuff.

I appreciate your comments. Good questions too.
