Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. One thing, you noted that I mentioned the "stereotypical style of women deferring to men to speak for them." I'm surprised you inferred that because that's not what I meant to say. Rather, I agree with you that it depends on the individual. What I meant to say and I'm sorry that this wasn't clear, was that some women who stutter have deferred to their partners to speak for them-- not because they're "sterotypical" women, but because they stutter. Having said this, I think many men who stutter have probably relied on their partners to speak for them too. So really, this dependency issue relates to both men and women who stutter. I was just trying to put this dependency issue in the context of an overall article on WWS.
