Vanna, I am a graduate student in speech pathology. I was wondering what language you spoke in Laos? Was English your second language? If it was, was the transition from your first language to your second language difficult? Did this transition increase you stuttering, or did it stay the same? You stated in your paper that you have stuttered for as long as you can remember. I am assuming that you then stuttered in both languages. Did you notice any differences in your stuttering from one language to the next? Was it less frequent in one language that the other? I'm sure the transition to a new country and new culture was difficult for you and also for many young children facing these challenges today. I enjoyed reading your article. Thank you for sharing your experiences. You are truly a role model for many. Molly Rourke
