Thank you again for your insightful comments Barry. Leaders do come in all forms.

I also would like to see recognition of how the L/G/B/T community has impacted the stuttering self help movement. I'm glad that people who stutter so often use the phrase "coming out of the closet" when announcing their new found freedom and liberation from stuttering, but I'd also like to see it be recognized that the term is most associated with gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders announcing to the world that they are queer.

Maybe next year for ISAD a paper will be written on the parallels of coming out of the closet as a stutterer and coming out of the closet as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. The G/L/B/T community has much to continue to offer the stuttering community.
